Chapter 5, Page 27, Book 16

Just Close Your Eyes

Just close your Eyes and open your heart,
And feel your worries and cares depart.
Just yield yourself to the Father above,
And let him hold you secure in his love.

For life on earth grows more involved,
With endless problems that can't be solved,
But God only ask us to do our best,
Then he will take over and finish the rest...

So when you are tired, discouraged and blue,
There is always one door that is open to you,
And that is the door to The House of Prayer,
And you'll find God waiting to meet you there.

And The House of Prayer is no further away,
than the quiet spot where you kneel and pray.
For the heart is a temple when God is there
As we place ourselves in his loving care.

And he hears every prayer and answers each one
When we Pray in His name - Thy will be done.
The burdens that seemed too heavy to bear
Are lifted away on the wings of a prayer.

May 27th - Pray Always, Don’t Lose Heart

In prayer it is better to have a heart without words than words without a heart.

John Bunyan

I believe that God answers prayer in the best way, not just sometimes, but every time. However, the evidence of the answer in the area we want it may not always immediately follow.

Beware of anything that stops the offering up of prayer. To lose heart is to become discouraged.  The problem for most of us is that our timetable is not on par with God’s timetable.  Our agenda is not God’s agenda.  And so we become impatient.  We lose heart, because we don’t get what we want when we want it.   If we lose heart, we have lost everything.

It often seems that when we least desire prayer is when we most need prayer.  No matter how great or noble, anything in this life that can be achieved without prayer is not worth chasing after.

Prayer is designed to keep us strong, to keep us from losing heart, from becoming discouraged.  The life of faith is a marathon. The ups, the downs, and the plateaus in our prayer life are a reflection of this race. And just as in a marathon we need to keep running, so we keep praying. The point is: Don’t give up!

Please remember :  Prayer is not a magic wand! It strengthens faith in the tough times.

very true ,prayer is heart of faith through which we acknowledge the power of lord and seek his guidance for each step we take ahead

I liked that Just Close Your Eyes from Helen Steiner Rice. I do agree that God answers every single prayer we pray, not in our timing sometimes and not the way we would want it answered. Seeing answers to prayer, whether they are what we want or not, does indeed strengthen one's faith. He is not a genie and we can't "order" him around, but we can pray and just trust he knows what is best for us.

Been tough going here recently. Looking for inspiration. Found it here. "in a marathon we need to keep running, so we keep praying. The point is: Don’t give up!"
