Chapter 3, Page 4, Book 16

Three simple rules in life:

If you do not go after what you want you’ll never have it.

If you do not ask, the answer will always be no

If you to not step forward you will always be in the same place.

March 4th -  keep it simple

I think we can all use a healthy dose of simplicity.  A quick internet search yielded some of this baker’s dozen rules for living a simple life:

Use everything in moderation. Spend less than you make, pay attention to your diet, and limit your screen time.

Keep things in perspective. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Remember the words: This too shall pass.

Treat others how they want to be treated. Don’t judge, be generous and do something nice for someone daily. Let others say no, and don’t pressure or guilt them into doing what you want.

Have a positive mindset. Keep in mind the words of Henry Ford: Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t — you’re right!

Educate yourself. Keep up on your faith by reading.  Learn something new every day.

Surround yourself with supportive people.

Banish the word perfection. Strive for excellence, not perfection. Most of the time, good enough is good enough.

Fix it, or deal with it, but stop whining about it. Don’t blame others for your problems, make excuses or be overly sensitive. And, for Pete’s sake, don’t be a drama queen.

Remember things that you’re grateful for.

 Be passionate about something.

It’s good to put the emphasis on leading a simple life during Lent.

Love rejoices over good things. Every rule must be based on love and lead to love or flow from love. When this is not happening then, it will lead to rigidity, complexity, and confusion. Be simple and love and you will know what the right thing to do is.

I liked that baker list of how to live a simple life. They need to be put on a plaque where people can rid it every day and remember those things as they go about their day.

I like the 'Fix it or Deal with it attitude!'

Sun shine here today, looks beautiful outside thru our Picture window (windshield).

Hope you have a great weekend!

Very sound advice--every one of the items on that list. Life does tend to get overly complicated! Maybe because I've gotten old but life used to seem much simpler!
