Chapter 1, Page 12, Book 16

Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don’t know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes.
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you’re tired and weary,
because it means you’ve made a difference.

It’s easy to be thankful for the good things.A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings.

January 12th - Gratitude has sweet side effects

Each day brings with it the miracle of a new beginning. Many of the moments ahead will be marvelously disguised as ordinary days, but each one of us has the chance to make something extraordinary out of them.

Douglas Pagels

Whether it is the natural beauty that surrounds you, the interesting people you encounter, or the simple beating of your heart, everything is a miracle f you have eyes to see it.

It’s so easy to feel entitled and become cynical when we don’t get what we want or feel we deserve. But if we receive everything as a gift, designed for either our enjoyment, our growth, or both, we open ourselves to new possibilities.

Today will never be repeated. It it is unique among all the days of your life. One thing I’ve learned is that gratitude can transform any day into one to be remembered.  It turns ordinary days into ones that are extraordinary.

Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.

William Arthur Ward

Gratitude is one of the simplest and quickest ways to nip negativity and bad moods in the bud! Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home and a stranger into a friend.

Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift.

How Sweet it is !

I liked that list of be thankfuls; there is a lot to be thankful for, even in the midst of adversity and suffering. Always good to try to be thankful too no matter what we might be going through because even then we still do have lots of blessings.

Gratitude takes away a lot of sadness. I try to focus on what's good in my life and take away the focus from those things that I'm sad or fearful. Today I'm grateful that it's not snowing yet, and I can do my errands without slips. Have a terrific Tuesday.
