Chapter 11, Page 7, Book 15

Small Obligations

Life is made up, not of great sacrifices or duties, but of little things, in which smiles and kindnesses and small obligations, given habitually, are what win and preserve the heart and secure comfort.

 Humphrey Davy

November 7th - time for a Fall refresh

There's no scarcity of opportunity to make a living at what you love. There is only a scarcity of resolve to make it happen.

Wayne Dyer

This time of year most have us have completely forgotten about those resolutions we made way back in January.

How about some fall resolutions

give up complaining…focus on gratitude
give up pessimism…become an optimist
give up harsh judgements…think kind thoughts
give up worry…trust divine providence
Give up discouragement…be full of hope
Give up bitterness…turn to forgiveness
Give up hatred…return good for evil
give up negativism…be positive
give up anger…practice patience
give up pettiness…practice maturity
Give up gloom…enjoy the beauty that is all around you
Give up jealousy…pray for trust
Give up gossiping…control your tongue
Give up sin…turn to virtue

If you are falling behind on your New Years resolutions,  reestablish resolutions now.

Enjoy nature. Make time in your schedule and allow for space in your mind for nothing or anything.

Decide what’s important. Help someone else to live a healthier happier life.

Kindly and methodically remove negative people and situations from your life.
Lose one bad habit. Know that difficult decisions often have an upside, but if you don’t allow yourself to see clearly and try new things, you will never know what you might have lost.

Fear is a habit; so is self pity, defeat, anxiety, despair, hopelessness and resignation. You can eliminate all of these negative habits with two simple resolves: I can!! and I will!!

I like those fall resolutions; and you are right, Ma, a lot of people have probably forgotten their New Year's resolutions by now. But so true that we can change bad habits and get rid of them with just trying to change our attitude and how we do things.

We are sorta under the weather and reading the Fall Resolutions hit a tender spot, that needed to be touched. Thanks, I liked this especially:
"Give up gloom…enjoy the beauty that is all around you"

Okay!

I'll be honest. At first glance, those Fall Resolutions looked like a tall order.
Then again, I realize there's no other path to lasting peace.
Four little words, "I can and I will!!!"

I looked at my resolutions yesterday and I REALLY need to focus to get them done.
