Chapter 11, Page 27, Book 15

You are the peanut  butter to my jelly,

You are the macaroni to my cheese.

November 27th -  Thanks and action go together like peanut butter and jelly

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.

John F. Kennedy

There are some things in life that just go together, like peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese, or bread and butter.  Giving thanks spurs you on to do something.  When we have that thankful spirit about us, it does cause us to want to praise the Lord.

Few things steal joy and gratitude more than worry, and few things seem more important when it comes to cultivating faith than the pursuit of gratitude. And yet, this is so difficult today when much in our world provokes worry, anxiety, fear, uncertainty

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.

Psalm 28:7

Joy and music seem to go together too. They are natural, human responses to a supernatural blessing from God. Overflowing with gratitude, we burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

Come, ye thankful people, come,
raise the song of harvest home;
all is safely gathered in,
ere the winter storms begin.
God our Maker doth provide
for our wants to be supplied;
come to God's own temple, come,
raise the song of harvest home

Text: Henry Alford, 1810-1871
Music: George J. Elvey, 1816-1893

May you discard the worries of the past and all that would prevent you from the gracious beauty of the present moment.

May you relinquish the fears and anxieties of tomorrow and root yourself in the soil of the abundance here and now.

May you have the spirit and energy to strive for the Good in everything.

May gratitude and love overflow in your cup.

Milk and cookies always seem to go together too :) So true how joy and music can go together and even when one is sad or hurting, etc., music can be so uplifting, especially if it is praise songs to God :)
