Chapter 11, Page 14, Book 15

View from the Porch these November days.

The heart has its reasons that reason knows nothing of.

Blaise Pascal

November 15th - Ours is not to reason why…

The most intelligent thing we can do is love, not reason.

Barry Lopez

There are many things in life that we don't know, and there are many things we may have no interest in finding out. There is freedom in saying, I don’t know. When we admit that we don't know something, we can then open ourselves up to the opportunity to learn.

To find someone who will love you for no reason, and to shower that person with reasons, that is the ultimate happiness.

Robert Brault

We have somehow learned that there must be a reason or reasons to love someone. So we set up criteria by which we judge those we must love, and those we should exclude from our love. We have learned that there are some who are worthy of love, while others we can ignore.

We have learned to love only those who are like us and at the same time, we’ve learned to close our lives from those who are different from us or we find unlikable for whatever reason. But when we lay aside our prejudices and judgments and open our hearts to those we would like to dismiss, then perhaps, we might just find them to be God’s blessings.

Life was meant to be lived, and curiosity must be kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life.

Eleanor Roosevelt

Sometimes we don’t know the reasons why,
but it is always a good idea to give others reasons to try.

What a lovely post. Your images are wonderful, too.
Thank you for your comment left at Lakehouse. I am blessed that you understand about loss. I will pass your kind words on to my sister. I am sure it will soothe her heart.
Love to you.

I liked the read, lots of fodder to chew on, and then you end it with with some very good wisdom.

Thanks, (And things are looking better here. The shingles are taking flight!!!)

It is sometimes hard to go out of our comfort zone when loving someone, but that is often the times we really grew as we help others; always good to reach out and love, no matter who it might be.

Timely post!
With all the fear and tragedies in the world, I suppose it's natural to take comfort from those who LOOK just like us and THINK the same way.
... But that's not we were put here for, was it? Like Jack said, lots of fodder to chew on!

Lots to think of, and especially today, so much to pray about.
