Chapter 10, Page 5, Book 15

People need people and friends need friends
And we all need love for a full life depends
Not on vast riches or great acclaim,
Not on success or on worldy fame,
But just in knowing that someone cares
And holds us close in their thoughts and prayers-
For only the knowledge that we’re understood
Makes everyday living feel wonderfully good,
And we rob ourselves of life’s greatest need
When we lock up our hearts and fail to heed
The outstretched hand reaching to find
A kindred spirit whose heart and mind
Are lonely and longing to somehow share
Our joys and sorrows and to make us aware
That life’s completeness and richness depends
On the things we share with our loved ones and friends.

Encouragement to others is something everyone can give. Somebody needs what you have to give. It may not be your money; it may be your time. It may be your listening ear. It may be your arms to encourage. It may be your smile to uplift. Who knows?

Joel Osteen

There are times when it seems it might be easier to say nothing, but it is much better to say something. To get our focus off ourselves and on others. To look for ways to lift up others rather than tear them down. It is good to encourage others.

Encouragement goes straight to the heart. There are times when just being there can be encouraging! When you're with others, you're telling them that they're important.  And remember: when you're feeling discouraged, the best way to lift yourself up is to encourage others.

Whoever is happy will make others happy too.

I hope everyone has experienced that smile or word of encouragement at a low time. Those times it was worth millions to your heart. Yes, give a smile.

That is so true that encouragement goes straight to the heart and it sometimes doesn't take much to encourage someone; a word, a smile, even just a pat on the shoulder or arm is enough to brighten someone's day.
