Chapter 10, Page 2, Book 15

Life is like a garden
And friendship like a flower,
That blooms and grows in beauty
With the sunshine and the shower.

And lovely are the blossoms
That are tended with great care,
By those who work unselfishly
To make the place more fair.

And, like the garden blossoms,
Friendship’s flower grows more sweet
When watched and tended carefully
By those we know and meet.

And, if the seed of friendship
Is planted deep and true
And watched with understanding,
Friendship’s flower will bloom for you.

October 2nd - harvest of love

Surer than autumn's harvests
  Are harvests of thought and deed;
Like those that our hands have planted,
The yield will be like the seed.

Harris

When we’re in a good mood, we shine like the sun. But if we find ourselves in the presence of a person, or people, in a grumpy mood, it can feel like a dark cloud approaching to dim our light.

It’s at times like this that it’s good to remember that clouds pass and we can make the choice to offer support that comes from the heart.  To ask if they would like some help or to offer suggestions that have helped us in the past. By uplifting another in any way, we improve our own lives while making the world a better place for all of us.

It is easy enough to be pleasant, When life flows by like a song. But the man worth while is the one who can smile, when everything goes dead wrong. For the test of the heart is troubled, And it always comes with the years. And the smiles that is worth the praises of earth is the smile that shines through tears.

Truer words never spoken. There's always a rainbow after the rain.
I love the planter with the little pumpkin girl in it...so cute!!
It's so easy to get into a rut, and stay there. When someone offers a hand to pull us out, we yank them in with us......with our negativity, and sour attitude. No wonder so many people avoid a sourpuss. I have a little sign in my kitchen that simply reads, "Get over it".
Nice post.
Love to you.

I did like the comparison of a grumpy mood as a dark cloud then you topped that with the saying:
It’s at times like this that it’s good to remember that clouds pass and we can make the choice to offer support that comes from the heart.
You are so right. We are expecting a deluge from the hurricane weather they say. Our rivers sure need it.

I think too sometimes with a grumpy person, they just want someone to acknowledge them and their feelings. Sometimes saying "sorry it's a bad day or time" can make someone feel better and help them not be so grumpy.
