Chapter 7, Page 10, Book 15

Far too many people are looking for the right person, instead of trying to be the right person.

 Gloria Steinem

July 10th - love is flexible

Be

Be understanding to your enemies.
Be loyal to your friends.
Be strong enough to face the world each day.
Be weak enough to know you cannot do everything alone.
Be generous to those who need your help.

Be frugal with what you need yourself.
Be wise enough to know that you do not know everything.
Be foolish enough to believe in miracles.
Be willing to share your joys.
Be willing to share the sorrows of others.

Be a leader when you see a path others have missed.
Be a follower when you are shrouded by the mists of uncertainty.
Be the first to congratulate an opponent who succeeds.
Be the last to criticize a colleague who fails.
Be sure where your next step will fall, so that you will not tumble.

Be sure of your final destination, in case you are going the wrong way.
Be loving to those who love you.
Be loving to those who do not love you, and they may change.
Above all, be yourself.

We do tend to get upset when someone treats us badly.  It hurts and it makes us sad.  But rarely do we think about how we make others feel by our actions. By being able to be flexible, we can improve many difficult situations.

Flexibility is the ability to adapt to different people and circumstances, and handle unforeseen events with grace.  Being flexible doesn’t mean compromising on what is important to you.  In fact the opposite is true, with flexible thinking we can stay focused on our dreams and wishes but do our best to think differently about how we deal with people different from ourselves.

When I think about flexible people, the grandchildren always come to mind.  The fact that they can always enjoy life, no matter what ever else may be going on.  They radiate pure joy.

To love and to be loved is the bedrock of our existence. But love must also flex and adapt. Rigid love is not true love.

There is a lot in that word BE! Love the pictures of the Grand kids, and yes they are a no ending source of joy, (quote you: They radiate pure joy.)
YEP!

I liked that Be poem! So true to be flexible and so true to remember if we have been hurt, we probably have at some time hurt someone by our words or actions. Always fun to watch little ones play! So much energy they have!

Loved the Gloria Steinem quote, "Far too many people are looking for the right person, instead of trying to be the right person."
