Chapter 5, Page 9, Book 15

I think... if it is true that
there are as many minds as there
are heads, then there are as many
kinds of love as there are hearts.

 Leo Tolstoy

May 9th - the many kinds of love

There are all kinds of love in this world but never the same love twice.

F. Scott Fitzgerald

There’s  a lot of research out there about different love languages. The idea is that some people feel loved if you buy them a gift. Others feel loved if you empty the dishwasher for them. Others really need physical touch or words of love.

There are definitely many kinds of love and many ways to love.  I can see love in a friend’s smiling eyes, the beauty of the natural world, the simple comfort of a quiet moment.

There are as many forms of love as there are moments in time.

Jane Austen

We all encounter and experience different relationships in our lifetime and each one is special in its own way.   Love can be expressed in a multitude of ways for love has many forms.

A person can be said to love an object, principle, or goal to which they are deeply committed and greatly value.  People can also love material objects, animals, or activities.

There are many kinds of love, as many kinds of light,
and every kind of love makes a glory in the night.
There is love that stirs the heart,
and love that gives it rest,
but the love that leads life upward
is the noblest and the best.

Henry Van Dyke

Love this quote from Fitzgerald ... and your discussion.
I've made the mistake of comparing DH to my former hubby ... when, in my head I know he's just showing love the best he knows how.

It is so true about the love languages; it is kind of nice to know that everyone loves differently and perceives love differently and good to know people's love languages around us; makes it easier maybe to relate to them.

Jane Austen said it best. "There are as many forms of love as there are moments in time."
