Chapter 4, Page 7, Book 15

I sowed the seeds of love,
It was all in the spring,
In April, May, and June, likewise,
When small birds they do sing.

Fleetwood Habergham, The Seeds of Love, 1690

April 7th - Love sings

There is something about birds singing that always lifts my spirits.  Bird song is reaching a crescendo around now, as spring heralds the start of the breeding season and birds are seeking a mate.

The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come…

Song of Solomon 2:12

Most people find bird song lifts their mood, but research has shown that it could have even more profound benefits for health with aiding in recovering from stress. The little bird's song serenade a note of hope.

Spring would not be spring without bird songs.

Francis M. Chapman

Sometimes birds just become part of the scenery around you, and their sounds blend into the background noises that fill your ears. But sometimes, the sight of a bird can lift your spirits. ... Sometimes, the song of a bird can calm your mind.  Life is not just a round of chores and work. It’s a vast mystery, and spring birdsong is part of the magic that is calling to all of us in this season of bud and blossom.

We can try to mimic the birds of Spring,  to have words and a song that will uplift others around us and put joy into their hearts.

Those who wish to sing, always find a song.

Its fun to try to identify the different types of bird songs/sounds. I've gotten to know dove, working on some other ones here :) Its a delight to hear them sing (and to have the ability to hear them sing)

Love your reflection on bird song! I always think that birds don't stop and think of what's the right word or the proper tune, etc. They just sing and chirp away--being who and what they are!

The swedish proverb is beautiful indeed. I had the weight of the world on my shoulders the other day and the song of the birds in my yard lifted it right off and made me smile. "little bird's song serenade a note of hope."

When I stepped on the back deck this morning to dump coffee grounds into the compost bucket, I heart a chorus of birds from down in the hollow.
It was a beautiful sonic tapestry.
