Chapter 3, Page 5, Book 15

If you love something,
Set it free...
If it comes back, it's yours,
If it doesn't, it never was yours....

March 5 - free love

You must love in such a way that the person you love feels free.

Thich Nhat Hanh

Essentially, we need to practice being the love we wish to see in the world, and that requires a deeply rooted sense of reverence and respect for ourselves, our others, and the wonderfully complex, exquisitely vulnerable, flawed humanity we share.

The world is as a looking glass and gives back to every man the reflection of his own face. Frown at it and it in turn will look sourly upon you; laugh at it and with it, and it is a jolly, kind companion.

William Makepeace Thackeray

We need to be loved. That is all there really is to it in the end, simple, but not easy, as with most things worth striving for in life. Then the love returned by others can be received as the gift that it is.

Freedoms have limits. Principles are subject to higher ones. Both come together in one command: Love one another as I have loved you.

And still, after all this time, the Sun has never said to the Earth, You owe me.

Look what happens with love like that.  It lights up the sky.

I like your thought, Ma, that we need to practice the love we want to see in the world. If we model it, hopefully others will do the same!

Love the poem you opened with. But my favorite quote you made today was, "Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond to it."

Snow is about gone. It was warm here the early part of the afternoon so I put out the weed and feed and before I finished it was down to 40 degree in less than an hour. Take care.
