It takes hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home.

Chapter 2, Page 8, Book 15

Some people sit, some people try;
Some people laugh, some people cry;
Some people will, some people won't;
Some people do, some people don't.

Some people believe, and develop a plan;
Some people doubt, never think that they can;
Some people face hurdles and give it their best;
Some people back down when faced with a test.

Some people complain of their miserable lot;
Some people are thankful for all that they've got;
And when it’s all over, when it comes to an end;
Some people lose out, and some people win.

We all have a choice, we all have a say;
We are spectators in life, or we get in and play;
Whichever we choose, how we handle life’s game;
The choices are ours, no one else is to blame.

February 8th - Love and be happy

Happiness is in your ability to love others

 Leo Tolstoy

When you plant lettuce, if it does not grow well, you don't blame the lettuce. You look for reasons it is not doing well. It may need fertilizer, or more water, or less sun. You never blame the lettuce.

Yet if we have problems with our friends or family, we blame the other person. But if we know how to take care of them, they will grow well, like the lettuce. Blaming has no positive effect at all, nor does trying to persuade using reason and argument.

You will never become who you want to be if you keep blaming everyone else for who you are now.

That is my experience.  No blame, no reasoning, no argument, just understanding. If you understand, and you show that you understand, you can love, and the situation will change.

Thich Nhat Hanh

Someone else doesn’t have to be wrong for you to be right.  There are things that we don’t want to happen but have to accept, things we don’t want to know but have to learn, and people we can’t live without but have to let go.

 Make just one, someone happy. And you will be happy too.
Love is the answer…

For those of us that chose to get into life and play, life has been fun. I just sent that poem by unknown, to our family.

Good on you lady!

I liked that Choices poem, Ma! Its a good one :)

It is so easy to blame others indeed, I try to remember the plank in my eye is so much more bigger than the splinter in someone else's eye and I usually have my share with what's not working right in things.

Me, too! (... a fan of "choices" that is.) You find some great stuff!

Love the Choices poem. Well said, indeed.
