Chapter 2, Page 19, Book 15

I prayToday
That God will bring you
Peace
Where there's been pain
Harmony
Where there's been discord
Love
Where there's been loneliness

I prayToday
That God will bring you
Solace
Where there's been sorrow
Justice
Where there's been inequality
Clarity
Where there's been chaos

I prayToday
That He will heal your human heart
and help you face tomorrow
With a renewed sense of
Courage
Strength
And wisdom.

February 19th - Love cures

Love cures people - both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it.

 Karl Menninger

Love is not a feeling. Love is not an emotion. Love is not passion, as the world would define it. However, make no mistake about it: Lent is all about love.   It’s a time to renew our faith, hope and love

I Corinthians 13:4-7 says, Love. . .bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Paul, the author of Corinthians, saw only one solution and that was love! Don’t we need the same prescription today? What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination, will affect everything. It will decide what will get you out of bed in the morning, what you will do with your evenings, how you will spend your weekends, what you read, who you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude.

We can strengthen and build up people by speaking soothing, kind, and thoughtful words to them.  Our friends' joy soars, and ours does, too. Love heals. . I learned long ago that it takes so little to do so much good. Often it's only a word of encouragement, a hug, or just saying the words, I care.

Fall in love, stay in love and it will decide everything.

Only LOVE will save us.

Boy, that is so true, Ma, with your final thought. Only LOVE will save us. That is definitely what the world needs more of these days, love. If we just modeled it to all we know and they modeled it to all they know, etc., what a better world indeed this would be.

I love that opening poem you used. Particularly the part about, "Life being too short to wake up with regrets." So true.
