Chapter 1, Page 20, Book 15

January 20th - love the moment

Love is a choice you make from moment to moment.

Barbara De Angelis

Life unfolds in the present. But so often, we let the present slip away, allowing time to rush past unobserved and unseized, and squandering the precious seconds of our lives as we worry about the future and ruminate about what's past.

To avoid worrying about the future, focus on the present.  Savor every moment.

Happiness, not in another place but this place...not for another hour, but this hour.

Walt Whitman

When we concentrate our attention on the present we focus on the task at hand. We give our full attention to what we are doing and we let go of outcomes.   To make every moment count we must embrace it. Everything we do and every person we come in contact with deserves our full attention.

The smallest things can be so wonderful when you're living in the moment and taking them in rather than just taking life for granted. We need to know that every moment we spend doing anything is a choice and a
ll that we do on a moment by moment basis combines to influence the way our life unfolds

Today me will live in the moment unless it's unpleasant, in which case me will eat a cookie.

This is the best suggestion and bit of advice I have seen in a long time:

To avoid worrying about the future, focus on the present.

Yep, that sorta nails it, and I need to remember it!

I savor the present. But my husband ruminates about what's past. He misses out on a great deal.

So true to live in the present; better than worrying about the future or regretting the past.

One of my goals this year was to savour every moment. I think as we get older we realize those moments are quickly passing us by. Another great post.
