Chapter 12, Page 3, Book 14

I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning.

J. B. Priestley

Time is so precious to all of us.  Our waiting time should be spent wisely.  I found this prayer about time and thought it very meaningful.  There are many aspects to how different folks view time.

Let’s think of those who look back and wish they had an extra day or more time:

- those who have too little time for what they are expected to do;

- those who have lost a sense of balance and proportion in their lives;

- those who feel that they have made a mess of everything and would like to be able to start again.

We pray, too, for those who might wish for less time:

- those who are worried about what might happen;

 - those who are in despair;

- those who suffer hours of pain and illness;

- those who are in prison or are being tortured;

 - those who wish to die.

 On all these people, Lord, we ask your blessing.

Amen

If instead of a gem, or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give.

I absolutely love the prayer and the quote by George MacDonald. Good things to think about during this time of year.

I liked that prayer. It is interesting to think about how different people view time. Some are always wanting more time in the day, some are hoping the time goes by quickly, etc. It is indeed one of our precious commodities that we have and should be used wisely :)

Betty always seems to say it. But this morning the quote by Priestley hits home. I just received an e-mail that a buddy is not expected to live. He was a big part of my childhood. He would love to have that extra day mentioned here. Life is good and no matter how long, comparatively, LIFE IS SHORT!
Sweet one today.

((((((( One day at a time sweet Jesus ~ That's all I'm asking of you ~ Lord give me the strength to do every day what I have to do ~ Yesterday's gone ~ sweet Jesus and tomorrow may not be mine ~ And so for my sake teach me to take ONE DAY AT A TIME.))))))) Sometimes we worry about tomorrow instead of being thankful for the day that is OURS TODAY.......JeanJournal
