Chapter 12, Page 15, Book 14

Every day's a perfect gift of time for us to use. Hours waiting to be filled in any way we choose. Each morning brings a quiet hope that rises with the sun. Each evening brings the sweet content that comes with work well done.

I found out the hard way that if you want to say something, say it. Don’t wait for a good time. Life is beautiful and cruel in that it doesn’t tell you when your last day on earth will be.

Waiting and waiting and waiting for the right time to come is exhausting. And false.

I found the little poem below that seemed to fit the moment.  I wanted to give something to all my friends this year and says it all so well.

Friendship is a Golden Chain,
The links are friends so dear,
And like a rare and precious jewel
It's treasured more each year…
It's clasped together firmly
With a love that's deep and true,
And it's rich with happy memories
and fond recollections, too...

Time can't destroy its beauty
For, as long as memory lives,
Years can't erase the pleasure
That the joy of friendship gives…
For friendship is a priceless gift
That can't be bought or sold,
But to have an understanding friend
Is worth far more than gold…
And the Golden Chain of Friendship
Is a strong and blessed tie
Binding kindred hearts together
As the years go passing by.

I've learned . . . .
that you should always leave
loved ones with loving words.
It may be the last time you see them.

A little smile, a word of cheer, A bit of love from someone near, A little gift from one held dear, Best wishes for the coming year--These make a Merry Christmas!

John Greenleaf Whittier

So true Ma about leaving loved words with loved ones; we do not know if or when we'll see them again. That is a lovely poem about Friendship! I'm sure you are bustling about already today getting things ready for Christmas celebrations!
