Chapter 8, Page 16, Book 14

Life is like a turtle. You won't get anywhere unless you stick your neck out.

Nothing can happen to a turtle when it’s inside its protective shell but a turtle can not stay put forever eventually it must stick out its neck to search for food and a mate.

We all have a bit of the turtle in us wanting to stay safe and warm inside our shell.

I think we need to be like the turtles, we need to slow down.  Do you remember the story of the tortoise and the hare? It's better to be a turtle who walks patiently and enjoys every step of the way, rather than a rabbit who runs fast, but misses all the details of life.

Be like a turtle - Slow and steady wins the race

Patience wins every time!

Try to be like the turtle -- at ease in your own shell

So true Ma that we do have that protective shell of ours, similar to a turles. Glad though that we do stick our heads out from time to time to enjoy the wonderful life we have!

Patience, one attribute I sorely need to work on.
Of course sticking my neck out has never been a problem. (smile)

PS - Happy Saturday, Ma!

Love that first quote. So true. "Life is like a turtle. You won't get anywhere unless you stick your neck out."

I agree that we all need to slow down. I enjoy life in the slow lane myself.
