Chapter 8, Page 12, Book 14

Life is like an onion; you peel off layer after layer and then you find there is nothing in it.

James Gibbons Huneker

I think that like the onion, life holds a vast amount of possibilities. There is so much you can do with the simple onion.  Some eat them raw and some eat them fried.  I think they add some taste to a lot of things that would otherwise be sorta dull.

The use of an onion when cooking is endless it seems.  I always have some on hand.  Life is full of possibilities too.  There are happy and sad moments but there are always many possibilities.

Life is like an onion; you peel it off one layer at a time, and sometimes you weep

Carl Sandberg

Sometimes crying or laughing are the only options left, and laughing feels better right now.

from the book Divergent by Veronica Roth

I like what Carl Sandberg said, Ma, about sometimes weeping with peeling an onion. That can be as life can be; we do have our times or sadness and tears.

The first comment is actually true for the individual, you brought nothing in and you take nothing out. But of course I like Sandberg, because he always turns my head.

AND I LIKE ONION ANYWAY IT IS PREPARED. (smile with a tear) HA!

Carl Sandberg had a way with words. Love his quote about the onion.

Love the possibilities of using an onion and love the possibilities we have in life
