Chapter 7, Page 13, Book 14

Life is like a mountain, hard to climb, but once you get to the top the view is beautiful.

Author Unknown

A mountain represents both a high point and a low point.  Even when climbing a mountain, there will be spots where you are going up, and then need to change direction and go down in order to continue to the peak.  Life Lesson: Life is like this.  There will be ups and there will be downs.  The important thing to remember is that through it all, we remember where we’re headed on our life journey.  Have we thought about the peak we’re aiming for?

Live your life each day as you would climb a mountain. An occasional glance towards the summit keeps the goal in mind, but many beautiful scenes are to be observed from each new vantage point.

Harold B. Melchart

Depending on where you are there may or may not be a trail to follow.  Along the easier parts of the mountain, those which are traveled regularly by many, trails are plentiful and in good condition.  The closer you get to the peak, or the farther away you get from places that are most popular, the less likely you are to have an easy trail to follow.   Obstacles are out there in our lives.  And we’ll most certainly encounter them as we go through life.  There will be times we stumble along the way in life.

Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So… get on your way.

The 8 Secrets of Mountain Climbing and Life

Plan carefully so you know what you’re getting into.
Cheer yourselves on, admit it’s hard and congratulate yourself on how well you’re doing.
Stop to rest often and admire the view along the way.
Being part of a team of like minded people can make it more fun.
If you want to make it to the top you need to persevere.
If you concentrate on just taking one step after another, you’ll get there in the end,
The most important thing is to enjoy the process.
Drink plenty of water.

Let’s focus on enjoying our journey today, and not only on the final destination. Achieving goals is good, but having fun is important too.

Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.

I like the 8 secrets of mountain climbing and life. I haven't thought of life like a mountain, but it is so true. Lots of hard work sometimes to climb those peaks, but beautiful views once they are reached.

(I found out what a super moon was, something to do with the moon's gravitational force that causes higher than normal tides, so they were predicting 7 foot waves last night at high tide; we are supposed to have at least one more super moon in the next few months, I think they said September).
