Chapter 6, Page 9, Book 14

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass on a summer day listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is hardly a waste of time.

John Lubbock

Summertime and the livin’ is easy…

Summer is filled with Simple Delights

Summer ever beckons with the freedom of possibilities that long sunny days foster. It's a perfect time to cultivate the art of treating ourselves to simple pleasures.  Like most things in life, we have to look for those treasures or they’ll pass us right by.

You know that summer has officially arrived when you can drink your morning cup of good coffee on the patio rather than huddled up inside.

Just being outside in the fresh air is a delight.  I live in the city and it’s nice outdoors, but when you’ve smelled the air out in the country you can really tell the difference.  I like traveling on the back roads and scenic byways and finding even older roads along the way….

Summer gives us the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.  Whether you are on your patio, porch, or on a scenic country road.

Wishing you all a day filled with simple joys that make you smile!

With God Every day is filled with JOY!

Nothing better than sitting on the patio with a cup of coffee, listening to the birds sing and breathing in the fresh air. I also live in the city and love the smell of country air so much better than smelling car exhaust. My dream is to move out to the country some day. May God bless you. Enjoy your Monday.

I too found myself sipping on my coffee out in my patio listening to the morning sounds outside starting with the birds singing and the cars traveling along.

another gem, even if it is someone's quote, I have never read that:
Rest is not idleness, how true that is. We love to sit ourside with our coffee. haven't done that lately, but we need to.
Love from NC, beautiful day...

I like the quote from John Lubbock; great advice for some of us who enjoy just idling enjoying God's world he made. So true that summer is filled with simple delights. Fresh fruit in season, long summer nights before it gets dark, etc., so many possibilities await in the months ahead!
