Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin. And yet I say unto you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was arrayed like one of these.
Day 17 of 50: Delight in springtime - make it a sensory experience! ... What will make your heart sing? .
Flowers. They are everywhere this time of year. Enjoy them. We need to let our senses delight in their colors, their forms, and their fragrances. Enjoy this season for the natural pleasure that it brings. That's what it's for. I like to think of Springtime as a little bit of heaven on earth.
When you have love for something beautiful in nature, and when there is somewhere upon the earth a lordly landscape which you love, you store it in your mind and heart. In our minds eye, it will always be with us. When you are absent from it, you remember it with delight and longing. When you step into the sight of it once more after long absence, your heart thrills and leaps. Our senses are alive. You love it and you loved it first with all your senses.
Spring is like stepping into the Promised Land. It opens up slowly and steadily, spreading the wonder of its colors and scents and fruitfulness over weeks and months before giving way to summer.
Springtime is a sensory rich season for our noses and eyes and ears and bodies to take in the wonders of creation. In this same way, Easter is a celebration of the resurrection and also restores our senses to what they ought to be.
Remember to stop and smell the tulips, so to speak, and and keep your eyes open to the wonders all around us.
Today I’m thankful for:
1646. for smiles which delight and warm me through and through
1647. for faith that sees us through the tough times
1648. for positive reinforcement from others.
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind
