It takes hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home.

Chapter 4, Page 16, Book 14

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When cares are pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns.
And many a fellow turns about,
When he might have won, had he stuck it out.
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

Today’s Focus:  Give up giving up----hang in there!

These last few days before Easter will be all about hanging in there!

Don't give up! Don't give in! You hang in there! Because if you quit right now, you ain't never gonna see it! You ain't never gonna get it!

Eric Thomas.

Challenging, difficult times bring about opportunity.  Opportunities to grow, improve, and build strength and character.  Realizing dreams requires, drive, determination, and commitment to do whatever it takes.

The old saying is about when the going gets tough the tough get going.  It’s really true.  Focusing on a problem will only serve to energize the problem, causing it to become bigger.  We have to get tough and keep on going.

When you think you are at the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on

God is the one who helps me tie the knot to hang on, because He is holding the rope. He gives strength to hang onto the dreams .
Persevere; hang in there and keep the faith

When you get to your wits end, you will find, God lives there.

I have loved that piece of poetry you opened with for years. It says so much.

Love your added truths.

Take care, we are on the road home today, North Carolina for a few weeks. It is still cool down here..

I like the advice to don't give up; it can be so easy to do so when faced with something tough, but there are so many good lessons learned if one just perseveres and keeps going on!

I have always used that Don't Quit poem as my creed. It is very fitting, indeed.

I love that poem - I had it memorized years ago so it felt good to read it again and realize that I haven't totally forgotten it. A good message in it.
