Chapter 3, Page 11, Book 14

You Are

You are strong . . . .when you take your grief and teach it to smile.

You are brave . . . . when you overcome your fear and help others to do the same.

You are happy . . . when you see a flower and give it your blessing.

You are loving . . . .when your own pain does not blind you to the pain of others.

You are wise . . . .when you know the limits of your wisdom.

You are true . . . .when you admit there are times you fool yourself.

You are alive . . . . when tomorrow's hope means more to you than yesterday's mistake.

You are growing . . . . when you know what you are but not what you will become.

You are free . . . . when you are in control of yourself and do not wish to control others.

You are honorable . . . when you find your honor is to honor others.

You are generous . . . . when you can take as sweetly as you can give.

You are humble . . . .when you do not know how humble you are.

You are thoughtful . . . .when you see me just as I am and treat me just as you are.

You are merciful . . . .when you forgive in others the faults you condemn in yourself.

You are beautiful . . . . when you don't need a mirror to tell you.

You are rich . . . . when you never need more than what you have.

You are you . . . .when you are at peace with who you are not.

Tuesday, March 11th - Today’s Focus

Give up worry----trust Divine Providence.

Who or what can we trust? People have asked this question for centuries.  We are surrounded by so many voices and perspectives. Sometimes it is even difficult to trust what we see and hear with our own eyes and ears!

But this is faith: straining towards something bigger and more powerful than ourselves.

Many people make themselves miserable worrying over the future. The alternative is that we should have more trust in Divine Providence. Do the best we can, and leave the rest to God,

Divine Providence is God’s care for His people.  We know that God makes all things work together for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His decree. We find these comforting words in Romans 8:28.

Sometimes it may seem that God does not answer our prayers in the way that we had hoped. All of these things can try our faith. We may find ourselves tempted to doubt or to give up on our prayers.

At such moments we need to trust that God is in control more than ever. Things may not happen in the way that we expect. However God, in His almighty providence, can bring good even from the consequences of evil.

God's power and grace can even bring good out of evil. This knowledge can be a comfort to us in the midst of whatever difficulties life may bring our way.

Matthew 6:25

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life… who by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

Feed your faith and doubt will starve to death.

I really love that poem YOU ARE. It says it all.

Learning not to worry is my biggest life lesson. I used to think it was learning patience, but worry tops the list. Hope you're having a terrific Tuesday.

Yes, in this life you must trust a lot of people, and that requires a lot of faith.

Love the Y0U ARE!

I like the You Are poem and the wisdom you wrote about trusting in God and having faith, even when it seems like prayers aren't getting answered the way we might want them to be. I'm trying to worry less, some days are better than others :)
