It takes hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home.

Chapter 11, Page 3, Book 13

Some people sit, some people try;
Some people laugh, some people cry;
Some people will, some people won't;
Some people do, some people don't.

Some people believe, and develop a plan;
Some people doubt, never think that they can;
Some people face hurdles and give it their best;
Some people back down when faced with a test.

Some people complain of their miserable lot;
Some people are thankful for all that they've got;
And when it’s all over, when it comes to an end;
Some people lose out, and some people win.

We all have a choice, we all have a say;
We are spectators in life, or we get in and play;
Whichever we choose, how we handle life’s game;
The choices are ours, no one else is to blame.

Being Thankful - Day 3

From now on till Christmas  is a wonderful time of year. Yet, this year the holiday season may be a time of stress and tension over financial concerns due to our slow economy for many. Sometimes, the holidays bring difficulties with relatives into focus. For others, the remembrance of close friends of relatives who are no longer with us can lead to sadness.

I believe that a thankful heart is a key to overcoming the blues and rejoicing always,  If we are truly rejoicing and thankful for God's provision, we cannot complain or be resentful.  When we practice an attitude of gratitude in the small things, we’ll develop a habit that will see us through the rough times, that times when we don’t see how we can be thankful at all.

We  start by thanking God for the small things, the things we take for granted. When we wake up in the morning let’s thank God for our comfortable beds. As we go through our morning routines, let’s thank Him for indoor plumbing and a hot shower. We can thank God for a pantry full of food, and the electricity that keeps our refrigerators cold. When we imagine life without these conveniences, we realize how big these small things truly are.

A thankful heart is satisfied and grateful in each and every circumstance and moment in life. Thankfulness and gratitude protects and guards our heart

Today I’m thankful for:

1097. for hope that give us perseverance
1098. for those that persist in doing a good job
1099. for work to do each day

I’ve made the choice to be THANKFUL!

Now and then it's good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy.

Guillaume Apollinaire, 1880-1918
French Poet

Good idea to start the day with a thankful heart, Ma, for the little things we take for granted like a warm bed, etc. You are so right to have a thankful heart indeed!

may Sunday be a restful one!
