Chapter 9, Page 26, Book 13

HAPPIEST DAY?

Attending a wedding for the first time, a little girl whispered to her mother, Why is the bride dressed in white?

Because white is the color of happiness, and today is the happiest day of her life, her mother tried to explain, keeping it simple.

The child thought about this for a moment, then said, So why's the groom wearing black?

Colors are so important to us and the little joke expresses it well.

White being the color of happiness and black meaning just the opposite.

This time of year all the leaves change from green to vibrant shades of red, orange and gold.   Colorful  leaves brings to mind memories for nearly everyone who lives. I got to wondering what significance color makes in my life and was reminded of a quote that says, You can't hide your true colors as you approach the autumn of your life. …

Most of us have a favorite color or prefer some colors over others. This is because they can affect our moods so we surround ourselves in the colors that have a positive impact on our mood.

Red can boost your energy, yellow often makes people feel happier, and blue is proven to bring down blood pressure and slow your heart rate which is why it is often associated with being relaxing. If you combine the happiness of yellow and the relaxing feel of blue you get green, a very pleasing color for many people.

Looking at the colors of autumn I can see why they have such great significance…Yellow signifies feelings of warmth, excitement, happiness,  Red means glowing, confidence, and alive, and Orange means radiant, healthy, and serious.

Who doesn't want to feel exciting, happy, confident, alive, radiant and healthy?

The morns are meeker than they were,

The nuts are getting brown;

The berry's cheek is plumper,

the rose is out of town. . .

The Maple wears a gayer scarf,

The field a scarlet gown,

Lest I should be old-fashioned,

I'll put a trinket on.

I love purple year round. At autumn pumpkin and Christmas red and green and white entwined. Though old fashioned lights are sentimental too.

Too cute with the girl commenting on the groom wearing black :)

I knew someone who studied colors and would help people find their best colors to wear for strength, etc., as well as businesses with their color themes, etc. It was fascinating as she would describe the effects of color.
