Chapter 1, Page 1, Book 13

A happy New Year! Grant that I
May bring no tear to any eye
When this New Year in time shall end
Let it be said I've played the friend,
Have lived and loved and labored here,
And made of it a happy year.
Edgar Guest

8th Day of Christmas, January 1st.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Here we are welcoming in a shiny New Year.  2013 will be full of surprises, some good and some not so good.  But I think most of us look forward to a clean slate and a fresh start.  I'm looking forward to filling in the pages of Book 13.

For last year's words belong to last year's languageAnd next year's words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning.

T.S. Eliot

Anticipation of what may come is a good thing, but we shouldn't let our thoughts stray too far ahead.  First we must make the most of today.  Every moment of today will be filled with new and wondrous things if we take the time to see them.

We will open the book. Its pages are blank.
We are going to put words on them ourselves.
The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day.

I love your entry titles, in comparison to a book, neat. We too look forward to reading what is written on the golden pages, as you share wisdom and a positive outlook.
