Chapter 8, Page 7, Book 12

A Summer Prayer

Long warm days...The pace of life slows...
A time for picnics and rest in the shade...
Lord, help me to rest awhile
in the cooling shade of your presence.
Slow down my restless heart and fill me
with gentle compassion for all your people. Amen.

TERRIFIC 2's Tuesday / Going with the flow or making waves

Do not encumber your mind with useless thoughts. What good does it do to brood on the past or anticipate the future? Remain in the simplicity of the present moment.

Go with the flow they say, but what does that really mean? To me, it's about doing or not doing something and time stops. In that X amount of time of enjoying something, we are simply flowing. It could be the passive act of observing or a physical activity

Some say that flow is when you feel relaxed, when you feel that time does not exist anymore, when you enjoy a lot what you are doing and when you just forget about everything.

I often feel like it's better in the long run just to let happen and go with the flow.  The weather here has been extremely hot this summer, so rather than to try and fight it I'm going with the flow and just relaxing and trying to enjoy it.   Not taking myself too seriously. Laughing when things go wrong.

May what I do flow from me like a river, no forcing and no holding back, the way it is with children.

Rainer M.Rilke

In life, things usually don’t work out according to our plans. It’s not because we haven’t planned well or we haven’t planned enough but because the elements that make our plan a success don’t work as per our desires.  We cannot avoid what is inevitable but what we can do is accept and try to adjust to what comes. We can learn to go with the flow.

While it’s important to have vision, dreams and goal, it is equally important to accept the bend in the road. To have goals and bucket lists in life. Work towards achieving them. But, if sometimes they don’t work out, don’t panic, don’t give up. Set your goals but learn to go with the flow.

If you go with the flow you´ll eventually end up over the waterfall.

Adam R. Gwizdala

Sometimes you’ll make waves, and sometimes you’ll have to go with the flow. The key is to ride out your life the best way you can, and hold on to those things that remain from one season to the next.

That is my two for this Tuesday:  Don't make waves, just relax.

Have a TERRIFIC Tuesday everyone

Going with the flow is a great philosophy. Because the truth of the matter is, things happen and sometimes you really can NOT change the face of things. So you have to ride with the punches. I LOVE the quote you included, "If you go with the flow you´ll eventually end up over the waterfall." Take care. Have a good day.

Beautiful, the thinking person does both, mostly goes with the flow, but has enough sense to realize it a water fall is ahead. LOL.

Also thought of a saying attributed to Minnie Pearl, "If you want to make God smile, tell HIM your plans."
