Chapter 2, Page 11, Book 12

Food for Thought

God didn't promise days without pain
laughter without sorry, sun without rain
but He did promise strength for the day
comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

Disappointments are like road bumps,
they slow you down a bit but you enjoy
the smooth road after they're gone.
Don't stay on the bumps too long.  Move on!

When you feel down because you didn't get
what you want, just sit tight and
be happy, because God is thinking of
something better to give you.

When something happens to you, good or bad
consider what it means-- don't be sad.
There is a purpose to life's events, to teach
you how to laugh more, or not to cry to hard.

You can't make someone love you,
all you can do is be someone who can be loved:
the rest is up to the other person
to realize you worth.

What the heart gives away is never gone...
It is kept in the hearts of others.
Remember that great love and great
achievements involve great risks

Secure a special place in your heart
A certain place only you can enter
There will come a time to find yourself,
and only your heart will show you the way

The measure of love is when you love without measure
in life there are rare chances that you'll
meet the person you love and who loves you in return
So once you have it don't ever let go
The chance might never come your way again.

It is better to lose your pride to the one you love,
Than to lose the one you love because of your pride
We spend so much time looking for the right person
to love or finding fault with those we already love,
when instead we should be perfecting the love we give

When you truly care for someone, you don't look for faults,
You don't look for answers, you don't look for mistakes,
Instead, you fight the mistakes, you accept the faults
and you overlook excuses

Never abandon an old freiend, You will never
find one who can take his or her place
Friendship is like fine wine,
it gets better as it grows older.

Five rules to be happy:

Free your heart from hatred
Free your mind from worries
Live simply
Give more
Expect less

and the best but not the least

Love one another

I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!

Aww this was a lovely read and soo true too.In fact it made me weepy in a sence. One should be grateful for what we have and what we are sent and what we are given, not pick fault etc.If everyone thought this way wouldn't life be so much more pleasant.Have a great Saturday Ma.Take care God Bless Kath xx

LOVED each and every one of these sentiments. Food for thought, indeed. Particularly liked the part about securing a special place for yourself. So many times we are so busy taking care of everybody else's needs, we forget our own. Have a GREAT weekend. Take Care.

Well Ma, I've had a good day...just now getting on the laptop. It is COLD and windy and snow flurries all around but not forecast for us, at least not yet. I enjoyed the beautiful quotes today and going to my daughters after church tomorrow...GOD DIDN'T PROMISE a lot of things we think we should have...but HE DID PROMISE TO "BE" WITH US ALWAYS! and HIS "PRESENCE!" is the greatest gift each day. . .and GOD INHABITS HIS PRAISES! ~ Also, Ma, Thank you for the lovely comment on my blog THE ANSWER IS JESUS. ~ Jean(Rome Georgia Girl)

Embedded in that is a nugget:

You can't make someone love you,
all you can do is be someone who can be loved:......

How true, how true. Thanks.

We went to the beach today, a birthday party for a dear friend 92 who made her living as a beautiful creative seamstress.

It was sindy and actually a little cool, but some folk were in swimming.
