Chapter 9, Page 30, Book 11

The miracle of autumn is the reminder that though the leaves may turn red, and then fall away, the tree remains. And in the springtime it will again bud and bloom and become full again

FANTASTIC FRIDAY!

Autumn is a season of little miracles.  Summer is so filled with action and movement, that when autumn arrives, it’s as if the world stops to catch its breath.  With a chill in the air we say goodbye to summer.  The sun sets low catching the trees and the birds sing their last songs of summer, its a very special time, a time to catch our breath and prepare for winter and all its wonders.

OCTOBER begins tomorrow and now PUMPKINS will be seen everywhere I go.  Road side stands and super markets sell a lot of them from now until Halloween.  There are pumpkins for Jack O Lanterns and pumpkins for making pies.

To me it is a miracle how this fantastic orange round ball can contain so much fun!  I love to see them and I love to eat them.

Ancient cultures saw the coming of autumn as the end of the year. They hurried to bring in the harvest, and then celebrated the gifts they’d received.

We won't celebrate Thanksgiving here till November but there will be many joyful days in between.  Harvest festivals have become very popular again.  I don't know if I'll get to go to one this year but if you take a look around my house you will see that I'm decorated for fall and it's looking very festive here.

I've got my apple cider ready and it's perfect heated for a warm beverage on a cool evening.

I'm looking for and am appreciating the many FANTASTIC miracles of Fall

Have a FANTASTIC Friday everyone!

Chapter 9, Page 29, Book 11

There is always, always, always something to be thankful for.

Author Unknown

THANKFUL THURSDAY

If we look too much at what we lack, we will forget to be thankful for what we have.

Often we get so caught up in the every day grind of living we forget to truly appreciate what we have. I'm not just talking about a home and food and clothes. I mean that we actually can wake up in the morning and be able to say THANK YOU  each and every morning. We are alive!

We take it for granted that we are alive, with a roof over our heads and food and clothing.  We need to be grateful for every moment that we breathe.

It is the little things in life that really matter and for these we should be on the lookout. I live alone, and as such I find it difficult at times to cook for one. None the less there is food on the table and I am no slacker when it comes to eating.

If we train ourselves to look for the good in everything, instead of what is wrong around us, we have the power to change the world! To change our own perspective and perception on ourselves and our surroundings is an awesome realization for we can change only ourselves, not others.

This week is not much different than many others in the past.  I'm blessed with my family and my friends, my home and plenty to eat.  I'm blessed with so much stuff that I've had to get rid of a lot.  I'm thankful that I can still do the cleaning up and de-cluttering here at my house.

We can dream and aspire for bigger and better things in life, but need to always remember that everything is from our heavenly Father.. And to always be happy and thankful for what we have at this moment

I have this simple statement that I make often, Thank you God for all the blessings and abundance in my life

Hope that you'll find many things in your life that fill you with thankfulness.

Please join me in being THANKFUL this Thursday.

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY!  / Keeping it simple...

Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether

Avoid trying to read other people’s minds.  Don’t make other people try to read yours.  Communicate.

Avoid trying to be friends with everyone around you. You can be polite but spend time nurturing your relationships with the people who matter most to you.

Avoid living beyond your means.  Don’t buy stuff you don’t need.  Always sleep on big purchases.  Create a budget and savings plan and stick to both of them.

Avoid jealously. The only person you’re competing against is yourself.

Avoid clutter. Get rid of stuff you don’t use

Avoid trying to please everyone.  Just do what you know is right.

Avoid multi tasking.  Do one thing at a time and give it all you got.

Avoid other people’s drama.  And don’t needlessly create your own.

Avoid eating when you’re bored.  Eat when you’re hungry.

DO enjoy life's simple pleasures...They’re free and better than anything money can buy.

Life is not complex.  We are complex.  Life is simple, and the simple thing is the right thing.

Oscar Wilde

Being happy has a lot to do with doing what’s right for you. You can either pay attention to what makes you happy, and do more of that, or avoid doing the things that make you unhappy. How is that for keeping it simple?

I hope your Wednesday is a WONDERFUL one!  Keep it simple!

Chapter 9, Page 27, Book 11

Monday is too stressful. Wednesday is already hump day. But Tuesday is YOU day: a day when you have the energy to do, or plan, something fresh and unexpected that might just turn your whole week around

Author unknown

TERRIFIC 2'S TUESDAY

One of the most effective ways to change your life is to change your attitude and mindset.  We all get caught up and forget to reflect on how fortunate we are. So take an hour and think about what you’re fortunate to have such as your family, food, shelter.and about what you’re fortunate to not have, it could be sickness or debt.

Every single day your life changes no matter what. Even if you go through the same routine over and over again, no two days are ever the same. Recognize this and even the days of adversity will become bearable because you know that good new days lie ahead.  We do need to plan some good into each day and make it one that could change the whole week around.

It is better to say nothing than to make a promise and not keep it

 Ecclesiastes 5:5

Promises are serious and there are strong feelings when they are made and broken.  We place a lot of value on being honest and having personal integrity.  We try with all our might to stick to our word, to follow through, to do as we say we will.  Making and keeping promises is one of the things that  separates good people from bad ones.

When we don't keep a promise to someone, it communicates to that person that we don't value him or her. We have chosen to put something else ahead of our commitment. Even when we break small promises, others learn that they cannot count on us

We are not only communicating all of this to others, we are telling ourselves that we don't value our own word. We think it is okay to let someone down, to say something we don't mean, or to fail to follow through on something we said we would do. Not keeping a promise is the same as disrespecting yourself.

Keeping our promises is good for others and good for us!

That is my 2 for this week.  Turn your week into a TERRIFIC one and make a promise that you can commit to.

I hope that this TERRIFIC Tuesday YOU can make time for doing just what you love to do

Chapter 9, Page 26, Book 11

MERRY MONDAY!

Once again I got the urge to clean my office. Before I could resist, I had created an even bigger mess than I started with. One pile turned into many piles when I started sorting books, papers, and magazines. As the mess mushroomed, I lamented that I had even started. But there was no going back.

I have wished I was still the organized person I used to be.  Many years ago before I went back to work and before I made the move to a house much smaller than the one I live in now, I was organized.  Everything had it's place and I knew just where to find it

I've learned there are many things we cannot do, but there are also numerous things we can do, and do well. We shouldn't compare ourselves or our abilities and accomplishments with those of others or with things we used to do.  Today is a new day and a new season in our lives.  We need to be gentle in criticizing ourselves and others too.

We all have the right to make our own mistakes and learn from them.  I'm on a mission to get things done around my house but I'm taking a 2nd look at just how I'm going to accomplish that.  Whenever we set out to do something good, we shouldn’t be surprised when the situation gets worse before it gets better. This doesn’t prove that we’re doing the wrong thing; it just reminds us that we need time to accomplish everything

There is a season for everything under heaven.  This fall is my season to adjust and accomplish things in a new way.

After a little attitude adjustment it'll be a merrier Monday here at my house
I hope your Monday is a MERRY one too!

Keep smiling, we're all getting older...and better...

R and R Sunday!

Sunday A day to relax. A day of inspiration. Kick back and remember what life is all about. Spend time with family and loved ones.

I hope your all had a wonderful week and were able to enjoy what were the last of our summer days.  Fall is really in the air here in northern Ohio.

Sunday’s are meant for reflection, family, fellowship, relaxation and tons of smiles. We have really had a wonderful few days here at the campsite this weekend.  There was tons of smiles and lots of good food and fellowship here for sure.

Today, reflect on all those things during the week that have made you smile or laugh out loud. Enjoy this day knowing that next week carries with it the possibility for anything to happen and of course the possibility for tons of smiles too :)

I hope your Sunday is filled with plenty of that good R and R that we all need so much.

Chapter 9, Page 24, Book 11

SUPER SATURDAY!

For A Reason
 author unknown

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, they serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become. Sometimes things happen to you and at the time they may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential strength. Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good or bad luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. It would be safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless. If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart to. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because they are teaching you to love and opening your heart and eyes to things you would have never seen or felt without them. Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you either. You can make of your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it.

Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again.

I know you all have probably seen FOR A REASON many times and so have I, but every time I read it something else seems to pop out at me.  Appreciating every moment is what caught my attention this time.

Today I'm at my camper, a place I love to be, but will I appreciate the moments spent at home in the cold and bitter days of winter???  It is often a challenge for me to even think about those days that will surely come.  They always do.

For a reason, a season or even a life time there are precious moments in every day.  We just sometimes need to take the time to look for them.  Anything and everything we do can be made more pleasurable too, if we take the time to make them so.

So often it is our attitudes that determine the day.

Hope your day is a great one!  Take the time to make it a SUPER Saturday!
