Chapter 9, Page 15, Book 11

The love of a family is life's greatest blessing

THANKFUL THURSDAY

It has been a great week here at my house and there is much I have to be thankful for.

DS#6 received the biopsy report from 2 lumps that were removed last week and thank the dear Lord, they tested negative.  He has a past history  with cancer so we were all awaiting the test results.  Being cancer free is a cause for celebration and praise.

DS#3 and his wife became proud parents once again and have a new baby girl whom I'll be calling Belle here on my blog.  Belle was born September 13th and is 7.5 lbs, and 21.5 inches long.  What a blessing it is to welcome my 16th grandchild into the family!

With good news like that I am truly thankful this week.

My family keeps growing in leaps and bounds and what a blessing that they are to me.

In each family a story is playing itself out, and each family's story embodies its hope and despair

 Auguste Napier

Our family is no different than any other large family.  There are good times and bad ones too, but we do believe in celebrating the good ones to the fullest

Sometimes we tend to make light of our blessings and lament our deficits.  Our families, the set of people with whom we live our lives are often ignored.  We expect our family to understand without offering explanations of apologies.

Families are like oak trees. A few blows wouldn't bring the tree crashing down, but it would require a lot of healing and love to insure its stability.  Our families need us as much as we need them.

When you talk to people and ask them what they value most, family is consistently ranked near the top.  Every child is a gift.  God is good all the time and He certainly blessed me with a wonderful family.

I hope this Thursday you'll join me in being THANKFUL.  Count your blessings, name them one by one...

I'm glad your son's tests came back negative. Being cancer free is something to be thankful for. But... being a grandmother for the 16th time is indeed a blessing, and reason to celebrate. Congratulations to your family.

Congratulations to the family on the birth of Belle!! What a pretty name you decided to use for her on your blog, Ma; I bet her real name is just as pretty! So true about families; how precious they are to us. They say on death beds people don't wish they had more possessions or spent more time at work, but they usually say they wished they had spent more time with their family. We need to take that to heart and make time for our families as much as we can indeed!

glad to hear DS#6 test results came back negative! Wonderful news too; thank you God!

Love the entry especially this:
