Chapter 4, Page 29, Book 11

This was a gift from DS#1 and family. It came with packages of hot cocoa but the label on the front of the bottle reads SUNSHINE!

My daughter in law said she thought it was perfect for me as I'm always wishing I could bottle some sunshine for the dreary winter months we have.

On sunny days I do try to soak up as much warmth as I can, but it just doesn't seem to stay with me very long.

I've emptied out the bottle and intend to put little slips of paper inside with notes on them about SUNSHINE or something that will cause me to remember something that just lit up my day.

Next winter I'll pull them out when I need that precious commodity and hopefully that will make me feel better.

Keep on Keepin' On
Poet Unknown

If the day looks kinder gloomy
And your chances kinder slim,
If the situation's puzzlin'
And the prospect's awful grim,
If perplexities keep pressin'
Till hope is nearly gone,
Just bristle up and grit your teeth
And keep on keepin' on.

Frettin' never wins a fight
And fumin' never pays;
There ain't no use in broodin'
In these pessimistic ways;
Smile just kinder cheerfully
Though hope is nearly gone,
And bristle up and grit your teeth
And keep on keepin' on.

There ain't no use in growlin'
And grumblin' all the time,
When music's ringin' everywhere
And everything's a rhyme.
Just keep on smilin' cheerfully
If hope is nearly gone,
And bristle up and grit your teeth
And keep on keepin' on.

I hope your Friday is a FANTASTIC one!

What a cute bottle!! And I like your idea about putting sunshine reminders in it for next winter Ma! I used to say when I lived in Montana that I would like to bottle up a summer day to open it in the cold of winter so I understand exactly how you would want to do the same thing where you are at!

have a great Friday!

Bottling sunshine for the winter months with quotes is an excellent idea. Love the poem too.

Just love you present of sunshine. what a great idea. I am so thankful that we have been blessed with the most amazing April on record. Hardly any rain at all and sunshine most days with highest ever April temp. recorded...How can I not be Thankful. Today we have all been thankful for having a Royal Family and we have enjoyed many happy hours of TV watching as Prince William married his Kate who was given the title of Dutchess of Cambridge by the Queen this morning.
Love Sybil xx

What a sweet,thoughtful gift. Good idea to fill it with notes to read with the dreary winter comes rolling around again.
