Today we go OVER THE HUMP of this week and now will slide right into the weekend! Weekdays are like a hill. Monday and Tuesdays are days when you climb up, since they are the beginning or start of your work week. At the end of Wednesday, you’ve reached the pinnacle of the week, and your work on Thursday and Friday represents climbing down toward the weekend.
Mondays and Tuesdays are often jammed packed with things we need to do after a busy weekend like the house blessing or the laundry, but by Wednesday we usually can ease off a bit and take some time to contemplate what we'll need to do to get ready for the coming weekend. We need to make our grocery lists and plan the menus too. Sometimes I have company on the weekend and sometimes I go away to visit with family or friends so I need to check the calendar too to see what will be needed.
This coming weekend DD and her hubby are hosting a get together for our camping friends. Most of us have not seen each other since last October when the camping season ended so it will be good to get together with all of them and catch up on what they've been doing and make some plans for what we want to do this year too.
One thing about the days and the years is that they just keep coming whether or not we are ready for them. Taking each one as it comes and making the most of it is my motto.
Lenten Tip for today: GIVE the gift of active listening.
But you must REALLY listen. No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning your response. Just listening.
I hope your Wednesday is a wonderful one!
