Chapter 2, Page 2, Book 11

Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine

Anthony J. D'Angelo

WONDERFUL Wednesday / Is it Spring Yet???

We begin watching for signs of Spring even as early as February 2nd when we look to see if the groundhog sees his shadow, and we hope he doesn’t because the legend says that if he does, he will be frightened back into his den and we will experience yet another six weeks of winter.
The anticipation of Spring is a WONDERFUL thing. I tend to dislike Winter more every year. The days and weeks of nothing but a white frozen landscape and hours indoors are very tedious ones for me. Just to know that there is only 6 weeks until Spring officially comes is exciting for me. We've made it halfway through Winter now and that is something to celebrate!

In ancient times, February was the month to celebrate the home hearth.

When fuel and food supplies began to run low, our ancestors would gather together to share the warmth of the fire and conserve their energy and food supplies. The warm fires inside were symbolic of the returning of the sun's warming rays to the earth outside.

Instead of railing against Old Man Winter, we should take a lesson from our ancestors. Slow down, indulge yourself a little and take time to be with friends.

As always, the weather is a reminder that we are not in charge. Even April can be a cruel month. But how I long to see it.

I'm hoping your Wednesday is a WONDERFUL one!

Let me know if the groundhog thingy works. Some of our trees are already starting to bud here but boy oh boy is it cold!

Yesterday I cleared a little patch under the bird feeder and the grass was as green as summer. Still snowing here but not as "hysterical" as predicted. We still have to dig out though later today.

Again, good WONDERFUL advice. So we are having an early spring. I wonder how true that is and for what part of the country!!!!

Love from Florida where there is no shadow today!!!

Oh I agree, we have no control over it. The only thing we can do with weather is talk about it. With all the snow we have and the ups and downs of the weather temps, we will be having winter quite a bit longer yet. Hope your day is a good one. Hugs

I don't think the groundhog would have seen his shadow here in Alabama it's cloudy and cold, lol.
I'm so ready for spring. Take care.
