Chapter 2, Page 16, Book 11

February is merely as long as is needed to pass the time until March

Dr. J. R. Stockton

It's Wonderful Wednesday and I'm still thinking Spring!

February is moving by slowly here at my house. Ever since they said that the groundhog predicted an early Spring, I've been waiting for it to happen. We've had some warmer weather and the days are getting longer, but still it's cold and there is a lot of snow on the ground here.
There's a noticeable difference between the amount of daylight we enjoy in mid-February compared to mid-December. A lot of people complain more about the darkness of winter around here than the cold.

During this dreary overload of cold and snow, I'm trying to remember the small things that can lift us from melancholy and a down mood. Little things like color, a scent, and even a bit of light can lift our spirit and soul.

The days are getting longer. Little changes abound.

The days are consistently and predictably getting longer, but the weather is not consistently and predictably getting better. We often have very cold snaps in February. So perhaps our subconscious minds are confused. Should we be up or down? Brighter but colder? Our minds say, I'm deeply bewildered. We've been in darkness and cold for a long time now. We just need it to end!

Remember that if you feel suddenly down and despondent this month, just know that you're not alone, and you're not crazy.

Try to keep aware and keep your heart and mind open. Smiles, rebirth, renewal, and light are everywhere

SPRING will come and it will be WONDERFUL! We'll be in the 40's today but I've heard some say they have seen 70 already this week. It's not so here in Northern Ohio for sure.

I hope your Wednesday is a WONDERFUL one!

Yesterday I went out and looked for something popping up but there is not much bare ground in my yard...YET. It will be soon, that's a promise. Happy Wednesday my friend.

It is good to see the days getting longer, indeed, but not having the weather cooperate and give some relief from the cold would "wear" at a person especially if they are dealing with a winter that has been especially harsh, bitter cold and lots of precipitation. Spring is so close but still so far away if you have a constant daily reminder of winter still having its hold on you. I can see why someone would have trouble with feelings as they wait for February to pass. Maybe that is why February is the shortest of months? We bounce a lot here in Southern California; can be 80 in January, 60s in June but having that variety can be good for the "soul" so to speak.

Definitely it is a good countdown to spring and there are less days of winter ahead! Always a good feeling I do believe!!

We are starting to see many signs of spring here too. Our snow is melting nicely (not too fast), the sun is shining more and the days are definitely getting longer. Today is bright and sunny. We won't see any flowers popping up for another 2 1/2 months though. Hope you have a wonderful day. Hugs
