Do you remember how we danced that night away
Two lovers playing scenes from some romantic play
September morning still can make me feel this way
Neil Diamond and Gilbert Becaud
This is SUPER Saturday.
September 11th has a very special meaning for me and always will. 45 years ago today, I was doing some major celebrating. I married the love of my life and for me life has never been the same. It was a wonderful marriage. We were truly soul mates and maybe that's why even after all these years since his death I've never found anyone that could replace him.
Sometimes we are blessed with a love that never ends, and that is the way it is for me. We had our ups and downs as do most but there were definitely more ups than downs and the memories I keep close to my heart all good ones.
So today I will remember with joy all those years we had together. I will remember the things we did together and I will think about how great it was. Some memories are worth reliving in our minds. Time for me passes on and I'm getting old but in my heart I'm still that bride of long ago with the love of my life right by my side.
The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall
Autumn Leaves, Lyrics by Johnny Mercer and Jacques Prévert
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
