Chapter 8, Page 17, Book 09

One of those huge graders goes to work on a highway repair job. When the machine is operating on a busy road, traffic is halted and the cars lined up in opposite directions are allowed to proceed alternately.

A veteran operator of one of those big machines decided one day to try to relieve the tension that inevitably results from such a traffic backup. Consequently on both the front and rear of his grader a sign now appears, declaring,
The Road to Happiness is Almost Always Under Construction

When stressed at work and faced with lots of challenges and obstacles, it often helps to look at the funny side of dire situations, and have a laugh about it. This aids in shifting your perspective to give you a wider understanding of the problem, as often people get "tunnel vision" when crowded by problems.

If you can't find any jokes, go to the mirror and try to look as serious as you can. The look on your own face is usually enough to get one laughing

So try and have a good laugh! Let it bubble up and wobble your whole inside around

It's good for you!

GOOD MORNING!

Instead of being gloomy and frustrated because there is no perceived solution, laughing lifts you up out of your pool of problems and places you on solid ground.

I am not suggesting that humor will solve the problem. All of us need to cultivate a sense of humor about the many strange things that can happen in life. We have choices to get angry, depressed or sullen about these things when it’s so much healthier to just laugh. Laughter is one of the best things we can choose to help us in our circumstances.

One of the many benefits to smiling and especially laughing medically, is that doctors know that blood flow to the brain is critical for efficient and comprehensive brain functioning. So when we laugh more, it stands to reason we should have a better functioning brain.

We must train ourselves to keep looking at the possibilities in any situation rather than the problems. A sense of humor will help us on those challenging days.
Mondays are always challenging for me, so I'll be smiling as much as I can today.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY

Humor helps us to think out of the box. The average child laughs about 400 times per day, the average adult laughs only 15 times per day. What happened to the other 385 laughs?

It seems I have a problem as I posted this at 5 this morning and once again not showing up on blog lines. Sorry about that.

hi Ma; this showed up on my Dashboard when I started reading blogs this morning. I love the sign the grader put on his machine, very cute, sure it got smiles from all who saw it! sometimes we do have to laugh even when times and situations are hard, there is always something to find to laugh about, a silly movie or book or picture or even a silly corgi pup :)

enjoy your day

Laughter is indeed a great medicine. I've got where I use it a lot to deal with the teens. Always way too much drama going on. You're an amazing woman to have gone through it with 7 teens....I don't know how in the world you are sane. Oh yeah laughter & lots & lots of prayers!
