Older and wiser voices can always help you find the right path,
if you are only willing to listen

Jimmy Buffet

TODAY'S PROVERB

Always remember what you have been taught
And don’t let go of it.
Keep all that you have learned
It is the most important thing in life

Proverbs 4:13
GOOD MORNING!

Advice is something we all treasure. Sometimes it’s not what we want to hear, but it is often what is needed. I miss having my folks around as they could always be depended upon to hand out some advice.

Advice is given in lots of forms. Good advice is always found in the Bible. Our Church has some strong basic teachings giving advice on just about any situation.

Many of us have read advice columns in the daily newspapers like those from Ann Landers who was a very famous advice columnist for years.

Here are just a few that I found to share with you.

Nobody ever drowned in his own sweat
Ann Landers

At every party there are two kinds of people - those who want to go home and those who don't. The trouble is, they are usually married to each other
Ann Landers

Anyone who believes the competitive spirit in America is dead has never been in a supermarket when the cashier opens another checkout line
Ann Landers

Television has proved that people will look at anything rather than each other
Ann Landers

Then there is advice from Dr. Seuss. Oh the places you’ll go….he says.

Here are some I enjoy:

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own.And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide where to go
Dr. Seuss

Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not
Dr. Seuss

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind
Dr. Seuss

We’ve all be given advice and given others advice. We just need to choose which to follow and which to forget.

TODAY’S BLESSING

May the blessing of God's soft rain be on you,
Falling gently on your head, refreshing your soul
With the sweetness of litte flowers newly blooming.
May the strength of the winds of Heaven bless you,
Carrying the rain to wash your spirit clean
Sparkling after in the sunlight.
May the blessing of God's earth be on you,
And as you walk the roads,
May you always have a kind word for those you meet

‘On Ya’- ma

That is what learning is.
You suddenly understand something
you've understood all your life, but in a new way

Doris Lessing
